A thousand days into Europe’s most grueling war since the Nazis, the starting gun appears to have been fired for peace talks in Ukraine.

Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, supporters of President-elect Donald Trump took to social media on Sunday to react to President Joe Biden's reported authorization of Ukraine to use U.S. ATACMS rockets to launch strikes into Russian territory.

China slammed the U.S. for "pouring fuel on fire and escalating the war" for allowing Kyiv to use the missile system, which has a range of up to 190 miles.

President Biden has granted permission for Kyiv to carry out long-range strikes, and his Ukrainian counterpart said the launches would come soon.

Ukrainians in the Black Sea port city of Odesa on Monday morning had been without power for 24 hours and further cuts were planned across the country after a massive Russian missile strike over the weekend damaged energy infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday said "missiles will speak for themselves," following reports that U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to conduct strikes deeper into Russian territory.

The attack came as fears are mounting about Moscow’s intentions to devastate Ukraine’s energy capacity before winter.
