TORONTO — A few minutes after he fielded questions from the media following yet another eye-popping stat line, Jakob Poeltl was letting his guard down in the Toronto Raptors locker room. He was addressing the scant 43 seconds of rest he got in the fourth quarter of his team’s win over the Indiana Pacers.

Jakob Poeltl could be a nice fit for NBA teams competing for a title. But there’s also reason to believe Poeltl can be a part of the long-term solution for the Raptors.
