The Cincinnati Bengals were getting blown out 27-6 in the third quarter to the Los Angeles Chargers when things suddenly started to turn. The Bengals battled up, and even tied the game in the fourth quarter, only to fall short after J.K. Dobbins ran in a touchdown with 18 seconds left.

“I think we all watch the game and we can see it’s just coming down to one play in every single game,” head coach Zac Taylor said ( via Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer ). “So why would you make a big wholesale change? That to me is just panic. That’s not what we’re about. We believe in what we’re doing.”

In some respects, Taylor is right — the Bengals remain in close games against great teams, yet stumble into new ways to lose each time. Sunday night was two missed kicks, a dropped interception that would have gone back for a touchdown and other mistakes.
