Five Penn State wrestlers are competing in the 2024 NWCA All-Star Classic. The event does not count in terms of the season record. But, the results will have an impact on the eventual seeding of the NCAA Tournament later this year.

Penn State's Carter Starocci defeated Northern Iowa's Parker Keckeisen in sudden victory in a matchup of returning national champions.

That wait was more than worth it as Penn State’s Carter Starocci, a four-time NCAA champion eyeing an unprecedented fifth, took down defending 184-pound champ Parker Keckeisen of Northern Iowa 93 seconds into the sudden victory period to break a 1-1 tie and prevail 4-1.

In last year’s National Wrestling Coaches Association’s All-Star Classic, Penn State was a combined 4-1. The results were the same in Saturday night’s edition of the All-Star Classic, but with one difference.

The highly-anticipated match between NCAA champions Carter Starocci and Parker Keckeisen finished in Starocci’s favor in sudden victory-1. Iowa, Iowa State and UNI had Grand View Open champions.
