Gusty winds expected in higher elevations on Monday could cause blowing snow and white-out conditions for drivers on mountain passes, forecasters said.

Temperatures will still surge to the 40s and 50s. A cold front will push through Colorado Monday night into Tuesday. This will bring a surge of cold air and snow showers to the state for the day on Tuesday.

Sunny and mild conditions are in Denver's weather forecast to start the week ahead of the chance for snow showers Tuesday.

Scattered snow showers will return to Colorado’s mountains on Monday and the storm is forecast to move into the Denver area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. This wave of snow will be short and not much is expected to stick, NWS forecasters said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Temperatures will be in the lower 50s with mostly sunny skies and a south breeze of 5-10 miles per hour. Clouds will increase some in the late afternoon. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s under mostly clear skies.
