The new class includes students from 20 different colleges and universities, including the first ever Rhodes Scholars from Eastern Mennonite University, Virginia and Pepperdine University, California.

Rice University senior Jae Kim was named a Rhodes scholar on Saturday, the only Texas university student to receive the prestigious award this year. Kim is Rice’s 13th Rhodes scholar overall but the school’s first since 2015,

Om Gandhi, of Barrington, will study cancerous tumors. University of Chicago students Anqi Qu and Francesco Rahe are also among this year's 32 scholarship recipients.
