The union that represents staffers at the Democratic National Committee is calling out its leadership in the wake of the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election. The statement said the DNC is “facing the fallout of callous and short-sighted mismanagement by senior leadership.

The Democratic National Committee’s staff union lambasted the national party for laying off workers last week without severance in what it decried as a “betrayal of party values.”

The cuts were announced starting on Wednesday night and were effective Friday; and DNC leaders did not tell staff how the layoffs were determined or whether additional cuts are planned, according to the union.
