Great Britain face Slovakia in the last four of the Billie Jean King Cup as Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter look to lead the way to a first final in the women’s team event since 1981.

The firse semi pits Viktoria Hruncakova against Raducanu. On paper the 2021 US Open winner should have too much for the World No 241, but Hruncakova held her nerve to beat Kimberley Birrel 2-1 in the last round and played a crucial role in the doubles decider, when edging out the Americans 2-1 with a 10-8 final-set win alongside Tereza Mihalikova.

Slovakia has followed up its win over the United States with a 2-0 victory over Australia to reach the semifinals of the Billie Jean King Cup finals.
